Confirm your account's operating instruction

What is the Operating Rule for your account

The Operating Rule is your instruction on how many authorised persons are required to approve transactions across the following channels:

  • Branch/paper transactions such as cheques and over-the-counter transactions
  • Electronic transactions such as Online Banking, Telephone Banking, EFTPOS, and ATM.

Below is a list of available Operating Rules and how all account holders must respond, in order for that rule to apply to your joint account:

  • ‘Any authorised person to sign’ Operating Rule: all joint account holders must separately provide the same instruction to update the Operating Rule
  • 'At least (number between 2 - 9) authorised persons to sign’ Operating Rule: all joint account holders must separately provide the same instruction to update the Operating Rule
  • 'All authorised persons to sign’ Operating Rule: one joint account holder’s instruction is sufficient to update the Operating Rule.

Please refer to the Operating Rule tables in your letter for more information on how these rules impact your ability to operate on an account.
