GCC accounts will start closing from 15 June 2021 (AEST). We expect almost all GCC accounts will be closed by midnight 16 June 2021 (AEST).
Checking your balance
The easiest way to check your Global Currency Card’s balance is to sign in to Online Banking (via a desktop or mobile web browser) and then select your account from your account dashboard.
You can also check your balance by signing in to the Global Currency Card App or portal.
Transferring your funds/closing your account
Want to transfer your funds out of your travel money account and/or ready to close your account?
- Sign in to Online Banking via a desktop web browser, select your Global Currency Card account and click ‘Convert your funds’ or ‘Close your account’.
- This will take you to the Global Currency Card portal where you will need to click the ‘FUNDS REDEMPTION’ tab and follow the instructions to transfer your funds and/or close your account.
If you know your Global Currency Card portal details, you can also sign in directly via gcc.westpac.com.au.
Please note, you won’t be able to use the Westpac App or Global Currency Card App to transfer your funds or close your account.
Topping up your travel money card
It's quick and easy to reload the travel money card:
- Load funds instantly through Westpac Live Online Banking when you select your Global Currency Card as a "To" account
- To load funds from another Australian Financial Institution using the BSB and account number associated with your card, located on the back of your card
- Use BPAY® by entering the BPAY® Biller Code 208637, then enter your customer reference number which is the 13 digit number on the back of your card
- If using another Australian Financial Institution, load before you go, so you will not have any problems setting up a new payee or biller when you are overseas.

What if I have money left on the travel money card when I return from overseas?
You can keep using your card in Australia to either shop online in your chosen currency or withdraw cash from any Westpac Group ATM without paying any ATM withdrawal fees. Alternatively, you can transfer the remaining foreign funds back into Australian Dollars at the applicable exchange rate and request the Available Balance to be transferred into a nominated Australian bank account, simply sign in to gcc.westpac.com.au
