Westpac hosted PayWay

Turn your website into an online store by allowing customers to securely pay by credit card using a simple payment page with your branding, but hosted by Westpac.


  • Accept all major credit card types including American Express®, JCB and Diners Club. Also accepts PayPal
  • Funds are settled to your nominated Westpac business bank account for better cash flow.


Choose from 3 options:

  1. Accept bill payments from a link on your website to a Westpac hosted payment page;
  2. Accept bill payments at (you don't need a website); or
  3. Your website passes payment values to a Westpac hosted payment page.

PayWay API


A slightly more technical option that enables you to integrate with your website or other application software to process credit card payments.

  • Real-time authorisation17 with funds settled to your Westpac business bank account
  • Convenient online access to transaction and audit histories for greater admin oversight
  • Peace of mind with data security delivered through industry standard SSL protocol and digital certificates.

Third party payment gateway


You choose the approved gateway provider; we act as the 'digital key' to securely process credit card payments, be they via a call centre, website or other application software.

PayWay Virtual Terminal

Virtual Terminal is a module you can choose as part of Westpac Hosted PayWay.


It gives you and your staff the ability to process card payments via a secure PayWay webpage without the need for a physical EFTPOS machine. It's suitable for processing phone, mail or other ad hoc orders.

  • Accepts all major credit cards for added convenience
  • Access audit history of all transactions easily online
  • Settlement and trend reports available for reconciliation and analytical purposes
  • Accessible from any secure computer and smartphone
  • For administrative purposes, we ask that funds be settled from an online merchant facility into a Westpac Business transaction account - normally taking 24-72 hours for funds to clear.



PayWay Batch payments

Suitable for processing high volume of mail orders (such as during a sale), donations or similar payments in bulk.


PayWay Batch lets you process large volumes of credit card payments by simply uploading a file.

  • Suitable for processing regular mail or phone orders
  • Enjoy an improved cash flow and reduced administration costs
  • Easily and conveniently download daily, weekly or monthly settlement reports
  • Settle your funds into a Westpac Business transactional account and receive same day settlement17 for transactions processed before 6pm (Sydney time).

PayWay recurring billing

Think that 'set and forget', payment processing would be a dream come true? It’s possible with PayWay.


Recurring billing lets you easily schedule regular collection of credit and debit card payments.

  • Suitable for subscription based businesses (like gyms, personal trainers, digital publishers or marketers)
  • Ensures steady, reliable cash flow with flexibility to set weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or yearly collections
  • Multiple reporting options cover failed payments, expiring credit cards and final payment due – for greater admin oversight.


BPAY® is a national electronic payment service, which allows your customers to pay you over the phone or through internet banking.



It’s simple and convenient, and means when your customers pay you, you receive their payments with same day value.17 A great way to improve cash flow.

  • Improved cash flow with no dishonoured cheques or payments
  • Same day value for payments up to daily cut off
  • Lower payment collection costs
  • Reduced administration time, with all Easy BPAY Payments appearing on your bank statement with payment details16

Things you should know

EFTPOS 1 & Presto Smart

1. To be eligible for the Westpac Merchant Pricing Plan you must hold and settle into a Westpac business transaction account in the same name as the Merchant Facility. Not available for use outside of the indirect tax zone. One terminal per Merchant Pricing Plan, per Merchant and available for EFTPOS 1 products only.

2. Changes to merchant pricing plans are effective from the following month.

3. Cancellation fees apply.

4. The Establishment Fee will be waived for successful application for a new Merchant Facility with an EFTPOS 1 or Presto Smart terminal on a Merchant Pricing Plan. Eligibility criteria apply for a Merchant Facility and Merchant Pricing Plans. This offer may be withdrawn or varied at any time.

5. The monthly account fee, currently $10 per month, for your Business One Low account will be waived for the first 12 months while you continue to hold and settle a Merchant Facility on a Merchant Pricing Plan. After the end of 12-month period, the standard monthly account fee (applicable at that time) will be applied.  The Business One Low account must be in the same name as the Merchant Facility. This offer is not applicable for any other account type and for a single account per Merchant Pricing Plan only. All other account fees and charges apply. Where you do not hold a Business One Low account or cease to hold a Merchant Facility on a Merchant Pricing Plan, the standard monthly account fee will apply for the account. We may withdraw or vary any benefit under this offer by providing you 30 days’ written (including electronic) notice. This offer may be withdrawn or varied at any time.

6. If you want to accept American Express, you'll need to call 1300 363 614 to enter into a separate merchant agreement with American Express.

7. Westpac instant settlement functionality is not available between 9:30pm and 11:59pm (Sydney time) for all EFTPOS 1 and Presto Smart terminals and is not available between 9:30pm and 11:00pm (Sydney time) for all other terminal types. You can only settle a Westpac issued EFTPOS terminal once within a 24 hour period. Subject to system availability, settlement can take place 7 days a week. Settlement must be to a Westpac business transaction account. Instant settlement functionality is not available on Corporate Online and is only available for Visa, Mastercard and eftpos transactions (excludes Dynamic Currency Conversion and UnionPay transactions).

8. The Point of Sale solutions are supplied by POS Providers, not Westpac. Westpac does not guarantee or endorse those products and any related services.

9. 3G is only available on the Presto Smart - VX690 terminals.

10. Presto Smart Pricing Plan fee discount: You will receive $10 off the monthly Presto Smart Pricing Plan fee for the first 6 months if you apply/open before 30 September 2019. After the end of the 6 month period, the standard Presto Smart Pricing Plan fee (applicable at that time) will apply. We may withdraw or vary any benefit under this offer by providing you 30 days’ written (including electronic) notice. All other account fees and charges apply.


11. Genie Plans are not available for use outside of the indirect tax zone.

12. Internet connection is required to use Genie. Normal mobile data charges apply.

13. The Genie Mobile app is available on iPhone running iOS 8 or later and devices running Android™ 4.4 and above with Bluetooth® 4.0 compatibility.
