Travel updates
In addition to the Westpac Business Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Policy*, please consider Allianz Global Assistance travel updates that may impact your cover.
Your claim may be affected in circumstances where you have failed to follow advice or take heed of a warning from any government or official body, or any publication or broadcast by any member of the mass media.
Complimentary overseas travel Insurance, is part of the complimentary insurance covers we have available to Westpac business cardholders on selected credit cards.
Is my overseas trip covered?
Your trip will be covered, providing you meet the conditions in accordance with the insurance policy. These include having for example, a return overseas travel ticket and prepaying at least A$500 of your travel costs using your eligible card. Examples of travel costs include:
- Return overseas travel tickets
- Airport/departure taxes
- Prepaid overseas accommodation
- Prepaid overseas itinerary items.

Please note for overseas travel insurance, the cover is only available to persons up to and including 80 years of age.
You must also either permanently reside in Australia, or hold a current and valid residency Visa and reside in Australia.
To be covered, you don't need to let us or Allianz Global Assistance know that you're going overseas. Provided you meet the conditions in accordance with the insurance policy, you're automatically covered.
What’s covered?
The complimentary insurance covers as set out in the policy include:
- Medical and hospital expenses incurred overseas (subject to a pre-existing condition exclusion)
- Loss or damage to personal property and business computers and business mobile phones (there are limits on individual items)
- Legal liability
- Rental vehicle excess
- Unexpected cancellation of travel arrangements and other unexpected expenses.

Which cards offer complimentary overseas travel cover?
We will provide cover for the period listed below, or until you return to your home in Australia, whichever occurs first.
The following card offers up to 6 months complimentary cover:

The following cards offer up to 3 months complimentary cover:

In order for Allianz Global Assistance to confirm your eligibility for overseas travel insurance, you will need to have copies of the documents listed in the Westpac Business Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Policy.
If you are in Australia, (or when you return to Australia)
Contact Allianz Global Assistance on 1800 091 710 within 30 days or as soon as possible of returning home from overseas or interstate (even if you have previously reported the matter to Allianz Global Assistance Assistance), or if you are already home, contact us within 30 days or as soon as possible of learning of an occurrence (loss, damage or breakdown) that may result in a claim.
