Next steps

1. Make sure your details are up-to-date

Ensure the Principal cardholder(s) have checked that their cardholder details and business’ address are up to date. Simply call 1800 080 003. Once your cards arrive, continue to step two.

2. Activate the principal card(s) first

Simply sign in to westpac.com.au/activate.

Your Online Banking details, facility number, and PIN haven't changed.

3. Activate Additional card(s) second

Once principal cardholder(s) have activated, the additional cardholders can then activate their replacement cards by signing in to westpac.com.au/activate.

4. Update your regular payments

If we can identify any regular payments on your card(s), we’ll send a list of these alongside your replacement Mastercard(s).

All cardholders can continue using their Visa card(s) until the replacement Mastercard(s) arrive.

Once principal cardholder(s) have activated their card(s), it could take up to one business day before the card(s) can be used. If activated after hours, at the weekend or on a public holiday it could take up to two business days.

Frequently asked questions

Why the change?

It’s part of a change happening for all Westpac credit cardholders to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our customers now and into the future.

When will the switch take place?

You may have received a letter or email informing you of when to expect your replacement Mastercard(s). The switch happens once each principal cardholder has activated their replacement BusinessChoice Rewards Platinum Mastercard(s).

Will my card number change?

Yes. You’ll receive a new card number, a new expiry date, and a new three-digit CVV2 number which can be found on the back of your card (it will now be called a CVC2).

What about statements?

New statements will be issued as ‘BusinessChoice Rewards Platinum Mastercard’ after you activate your replacement Mastercard(s). These statements will include the transactions which were on your Visa card prior to the switch. They’ll also be issued with a new billing account number and new card number. That means your recurring and BPAY® payment details will change.

What isn’t changing?

Your statement cycle and PIN number on each card attached to the facility will remain the same. See the above ‘What won’t change’ list for more information.

Will I be charged as a result of this change?

Your fees, rates and charges are not increasing as part of this transition.

Do I have to add my new card to Online Banking?

No. Once you activate your replacement cards, they will display when you sign in to Online Banking.

What happens with third-party access to Online Banking?

The access you have provided for third parties (like your accountant, financial administrator or other employees) to your facility in Online Banking will not change.

Why can't I download an excel version of my Visa Statement anymore?

Statements on a closed account can only be accessed as a PDF. This means that once you’ve activated your replacement Mastercard, your old Visa card statements will only be available as a PDF. Transactions on the replacement Mastercard(s) will still be available to you in either a PDF, CSV, QBO, OFX or QIF format by selecting the date range and account.
