Westpac on Twitter
Over the past few years the world has witnessed the exponential growth of social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
With many of our customers using social media sites, Westpac are looking at ways we can use these platforms to help us better understand and reach out to our customers.
As a result, we’ve recently opened our own Twitter page at twitter.com/westpac. Twitter is a micro-blogging site that has emerged as a space for voicing and publishing opinions and creativity to the wider world with a limit of just 140 characters. Our page will publish messages and updates about our company and activities, particularly in the areas of community and education.
Anywhere you have Internet access, you’ll be able to visit our page and view our messages. You can even choose to ‘follow us’ and receive alerts whenever we publish a new item.
Twitter also enables people to respond with comments or pass along news that interests them to other ‘Twitterers’. We’ll be monitoring the comments on our page and will reply where needed.
This could mean if you raise a specific concern about your accounts or personal dealings with us, we’ll contact you privately and ensure your concern is moved out of Twitter and passed onto the appropriate Westpac person or channel to be handled.
