Westpac Operation Backyard

Our employees often lend a helping hand to improve the environment by participating in local projects. Westpac Operation Backyard is our environmental funding program, enabling employees to apply for funding for projects in which they are involved as volunteers.

Since Westpac Operation Backyard began in 1998,
$1.6 million has helped 277 environmental projects in local communities across Australia.

Read about an environmental project we've been involved with.

Landcare Australia administers the program to ensure projects offer real value to the environment. Many projects are conducted with Landcare groups, but any environmental group or other non-profit organisation is potentially eligible for funding under the program.

Do you have a project that needs funding? The amount of funding available for each approved project is currently up to 50% of the environmental costs. To be eligible, your project must involve Westpac employees as volunteers and meet Landcare Australia's approval guidelines.

Program guidelines can be obtained by emailing us at david@landcareaustralia.com.au.
