Olympics and Paralympics

Our past involvement
As Australia's first bank, Westpac has been part of the community since 1817. So when Australia was awarded the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic games we were very keen to participate and share this event with the Australian community.

During the period of the 2000 Games we were delighted to provide 20,000 customers, staff and other community members the opportunity to attend the Games as our guests.

The Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic games may be over but the legacy lives on. Although our sponsorship of the Australian Olympic team ended in 2004, we continue to sponsor Grant Hackett.

Sponsored athletes
Westpac sponsors one Olympic Athlete - Grant Hackett. Duncan Armstrong, an Olympic legend, is an Westpac ambassador. These athletes inspire our staff and customers to achieve their personal best.
