The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army plays an important role in providing social welfare services to those in need. They provide a range of services to the community, including counselling and chaplaincy, assisting children and young people at risk, providing rehabilitation for addictions, supporting families and individuals in crisis, and assisting victims of domestic violence.

Westpac has provided hands-on support for the Red Shield Appeal for more than three decades and our banking relationship dates back to the late 1800s.

Many Westpac employees are passionate about the Salvos. Around 1000 employees volunteer to collect and count funds for the annual Red Shield Appeal and we actively promote fundraising messages to our stakeholders.
