Westpac helps investors retire with more
With three in every four members saying they don't understand super, Westpac Financial Planning is helping customers get the most out of their super, with the release this week of the third edition of its popular free superannuation booklet - 'Super Strategies: 17 ways to retire with more'.
Having already helped over 18,000 investors understand how they could retire with more, the latest Super Strategies edition has been updated to incorporate revised tax rates, interest rates and legislative changes. The booklet provides information and useful case studies about common super strategies that both personal and business customer can identify with, including:
- using super to get more cash in retirement;
- minimising tax;
- managing 'semi-retirement' and work-life transitions;
- qualifying for the age pension;
- the power of salary sacrifice;
- using super to offset capital gains;
- structuring a business for maximum effect;
- borrowing to invest - and more.
"Radical changes introduced to Australia's super system last year could revolutionise someone's financial future," said Westpac Financial Planning's Superannuation and Retirement Technical Specialist, Jason Menzies.
"Despite the 'Simpler Super' tagline, the system remains complex and confusing for many customers," Mr Menzies said.
"Our Super Strategies booklet has struck a chord with investors because it helps customers understand the major changes and in some instances provides the impetus for seeking personalised advice."
Mr Menzies added that the Super Strategies booklet along with the recently launched $199 Super Health Check - which provides personalised advice for those with between $5,000 and $100,000 to invest for a set fee of $199 - are two of the ways Westpac is making retirement planning easier and helping customers achieve their financial aspirations.
