Westpac donates $100,000 to Brisbane storm appeal
- Disaster Relief Package available for affected customers
- Donate to QLD Premier's Appeal at any Westpac Branch
Westpac today announced it would donate $100,000 to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal for the victims of this week's storms in south-east Queensland.
Donations to Premier Bligh's Disaster Relief Appeal can be made at any Westpac branch.
"Our thoughts are with everybody affected by these storms and we are pleased to be able to provide this financial assistance," Westpac General Manager, Retail Banking, Queensland, Ben Elliott said.
"We understand how situations like this can affect our customers' financial circumstances and at this time they do not need the additional burden of worries over financial commitments."
In addition to the $100,000 donation, Westpac has also made available its special disaster relief package to provide some immediate financial relief to customers seriously affected by these storms.
The relief package offers:- Affected customers with Westpac home loans may apply to defer repayments for up to three months.
- Affected businesses with existing loans can request loan restructuring without incurring the usual bank establishment fees.
- Affected credit card customers may request an emergency credit limit increase.
- Affected customers with Westpac personal loans can apply to refinance their loan at a discounted fixed interest rate.
- Westpac will waive interest penalties for affected customers wishing to withdraw term deposits.
- General insurance assessment and decisions will be fast tracked.
