Westpac and its customers to combat climate change Together
Westpac today joined other leading Australian companies in making it easier for everyone to do something about climate change with the launch of Together.
Together, a consumer engagement campaign on climate change, promotes simple products, services and initiatives that result in measurable CO2 savings.
As a founding corporate supporter of Together, Westpac is offering a home loan solution to help Australian home owners reduce their environmental impact and save money.
By taking out a Westpac home, investment or equity loan, new customers receive a booklet of discounts for a variety of environmentally friendly products.
Westpac General Manager, Sustainability, Brand and Communications, Sally Herman said customers can choose from a range of discounts and offers, according to their situation.
"The initial discount can help but we want to enable more sustainable savings for customers - for instance from reduced energy and water bills," Ms Herman said.
"By helping customers take an environment conscious approach at home, we believe the potential for savings on emissions can be significant."
Ms Herman said Westpac had taken direct action to address climate change for well over a decade.
"Westpac has been focused for a number of years on driving fundamental change through our business - to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and to offer solutions that make it easier for our customers to reduce theirs," Ms Herman said.

In addition to its home loan package, Westpac offers its customers a range of solutions to help them play their part in limiting the causes and effects of climate change, including:
