Westpac joins forces with The Adam Scott Foundation

Westpac today announced a new three year partnership with The Adam Scott Foundation that includes an initial $150,000 donation and ongoing fundraising support, to assist disadvantaged and underprivileged Australian youth.

In addition to the initial funding, Westpac has agreed to host a range of fundraising activities to support the Foundation in its ongoing work to assist children and youth charities.

The Adam Scott Foundation, created by leading Australian golfer Adam Scott, was founded in 2005, and awards grants to charities and community groups that assist needy and sick children; underprivileged and disadvantaged youth; and golf associated charities, foundations and programs.

Adam Scott said he was thrilled that Westpac had made a long term commitment to help his Foundation offer opportunities to young people and the wider community.

"I am pleased to announce Westpac as our latest partner to the Foundation. We are very excited at the planned events throughout the year and thank Westpac for their generous support to Adam Scott Foundation initiatives."

The Foundation has a number of projects underway, including a plan with Youngcare to fund, construct and open The Adam Scott Foundation Youngcare Apartments consisting of 16 self contained apartments to provide accommodation for young people with high care needs.

The Adam Scott Foundation Scholarship has also been established in conjunction with Griffith University and the PGA International Golf Institute with the first intake of applications closing this year on November 30.

Westpac Group Executive, Business Financial Services, Peter Hanlon, said Westpac's partnership with the Foundation aligned with Westpac's mission to help build better lives for future generations.

"In a short period of time, the Adam Scott Foundation has made a difference to the lives of needy and disadvantaged youth from across Australia," Mr Hanlon said.

"Westpac is proud to make this significant commitment to the Foundation, and to work with Adam to help improve the lives of young people."
