WIB Australia's Leading Wholesale Bank

Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) has been rated the leading wholesale bank in Australia, according to a recent survey of corporate Australia by leading researcher, Peter Lee.

In the Relationship Banking survey, WIB was ranked first overall Lead Bank, and outright number one against the key measures of Relationship Strength and Customer Satisfaction.

In the Transactional Banking survey, for the fourth year running, WIB was ranked the number one Lead Domestic Transactional Bank, and outright number one for Relationship Strength and Customer Satisfaction.

WIB Group Executive, Mr Philip Chronican, thanked WIB's clients for their ongoing loyalty and support.

"Our focus continues to be to partner with our clients to help ensure their long-term success. Our deep relationships keep us close, and our product leadership allows us to provide proactive solutions," Mr Chronican said.

"The external lead rankings are great recognition from our clients that they value our partnerships. I would like to thank them for their continued support."

The Peter Lee results are supported by strong league table results in other external surveys across key wholesale banking product areas, including:

  • Best Local FX Bank (Euromoney 2007)
  • Number one Market Share for FX (Peter Lee Survey 2007)
  • Australia/NZ Bond House of the Year (IFR Asia)
  • Number one Australian Syndicated Loans (Thompson Financial - August 2007)
  • Number one Public Domestic Asset Backed Securities - excl. self-led deals (INSTO 1/1/07 - 6/9/07)
