Disaster Relief for victims of bushfires in Dwellingup

Westpac today announced a special disaster relief package to assist customers seriously affected by bushfires in the Dwellingup area this week.

"We encourage all customers affected by these fires to contact their local branch or call telephone banking as soon as possible so staff can tailor an appropriate solution," Mark Stafford, Westpac General Manager, Consumer Financial Services WA, said.

The relief package offers:

  • Affected customers with Westpac home loans may apply to defer repayments for up to three months.
  • Affected businesses with existing loans can request loan restructuring without incurring the usual bank establishment fees.
  • Affected credit card customers may request an emergency credit limit increase.
  • Affected customers with Westpac personal loans can apply to refinance their loan at a discounted fixed interest rate.
  • Westpac will waive interest penalties for affected customers wishing to withdraw term deposits.
  • General insurance assessment and decisions will be fast tracked.
"Our thoughts are with everybody affected by these devastating bushfires. Our disaster relief package provides practical help by offering immediate financial relief to those customers most in need of assistance," Mark said.

Westpac customers who wish to take advantage of these special relief measures or need assistance with lost or stolen credit cards or insurance should visit their local Westpac branch or contact Westpac Telephone Banking on 132 032, Business Direct on 132 772 or their business banking relationship manager.
