New Zealand shareholder offers

Because you've told us how much you enjoy shareholder offers, we've got a range of special benefits that you can mix and match.

Whether you're looking for ways to save, spend or invest your money, we've included a variety of benefits for you or your family and friends to enjoy over the next few months.

To access your benefits, you will need your original vouchers (not copies). Vouchers are sent to all New Zealand resident shareholders annually, in December. If you have lost your vouchers, please call the Insurance & Investments line on 0800 738 641 (8:00am - 5:30pm NZST).

Westpac Investment Service
Investing is all about making the most of your money. It's our job to make it easy for you to benefit from a wide range of investment opportunities, including specially selected managed funds, and investments in direct shares and bonds.

Our Premium Service offers you a number of model portfolios that combine these investments, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of a fully diversified portfolio without the need for you to complete your own research, deal with a myriad of brokers, fund managers and do your own administration.

The PremiumPlus Service is for investors who want a fully tailored portfolio. It allows you to combine any of our investments with your own existing investments. Also, we can accommodate any preferences for specific investments. This is a flexible service that allows a wide range of investments to be administered centrally, providing consolidated reporting so that you can see all your investments combined as one portfolio.

Through these services we do all the hard work on your behalf and provide you with a total view of your portfolio including performance reporting at the individual investment level and at the total portfolio level. That way you are always aware of how your investments are performing.

Special benefit
Contact one of our Wealth Advisers through any Westpac branch for free specialist investment advice. For a limited time, if you join our Premium or PremiumPlus service, you'll also get 25% off any entry fees to the service.

Insurance
You can't always predict what will happen – but you can be prepared if something does. With our range of insurance products you can protect the things that matter to you.

We offer a full range of insurances from life and crisis insurance, through to income protection, house, contents and vehicle insurance.

If you were to become terminally ill or die, Term Cover life insurance can help provide for your family's future. It can provide financial support for you or your loved ones, when it's needed most. You can also include Crisis Cover, which means all or part of your insurance could be paid out if you become critically ill with certain specified health conditions.

You may want these policies if
  • You have people who depend on you
  • You have debts that would need to be paid if you died or became terminally ill
  • You want to know that there will be money to cover medical or other costs if you became critically ill.
With Term Cover, we can tailor the sum insured to specifically meet your personal needs.

Flexicover is home loan insurance just for people with Westpac home loans. Having Flexicover means that you and your family don't have to worry about your home loan repayments if you die, are terminally ill or can't work if you become totally disabled (due to injury or illness), made redundant, or made bankrupt.

You may want Flexicover if
  • You don't want your family to worry about the home loan repayments if you die
  • You want to know you'll always have the right amount of cover (your level of cover goes up and down with your home loan balance)
  • You only want to pay for the cover you need
  • You own several properties (you can cover up to eight home loans under your Flexicover).
Special benefit
Take out a new Term Cover, Gold Term Cover or Flexicover policy before 18 January 2008, and you'll have your premiums for the first three months waived.

Debitplus Visa
The Westpac Debitplus Visa card is not a credit card because you're using money you already have in your account, but it does give you all the convenience of one.

It has all the benefits of your regular EFTPOS/ATM card, but like a credit card it can be used anywhere Visa is accepted – online, over the phone and overseas. As long as you have enough money in your linked transaction account you can use it buy things like iTunes online or pizza over the phone.

You can also use your Debitplus card anywhere around the world that displays the Visa or PLUS symbol. It's ideal for shopping overseas as purchases are paid for directly from your transaction account, so you won't have to worry about carrying large amounts of cash, or having a large credit limit.

Special benefit
Apply for your new Debitplus Visa card before 31 March 2008 and we'll waive your first year's annual card fee.

Home Loan
With a Westpac home loan, you can choose from a floating, capped or fixed interest rate – or a combination of these to suit your needs.

Having at least some of your loan on a floating rate means that you have extra flexibility to vary your repayments, make lump sum payments, or pay your loan off sooner; while having some on a fixed or capped rate gives you more certainty about future payments.

What's important is that you get the right mix to suit your lifestyle and budget. So, whether you want to invest in property, build a new house or help your son or daughter into their first home – a Westpac home loan could help make it happen.

Special benefit
Draw down a new home loan before 31 March 2008, and you could get a 0.5% discount on our current floating home loan rate.
