About Westpac Asia

Westpac's Asian strategy is to support our Australian and New Zealand customers in Asia, and to provide a gateway for Asian firms interested in Australia and New Zealand and Asian nationals migrating to or investing in Australia and New Zealand.

Our Singapore branch office, which is now our lead regional office in Asia, has been in operation since 1984.

We have also had a branch office in Hong Kong since 1986, and have just recently opened a branch office in Shanghai in 2008, our first branch overseas in 15 years, signifying the importance we see in the China market.

We have had Representative Offices in Jakarta since 1972, Beijing in 1982, and opened a new Representative Office in Mumbai in 2007.

Westpac Asia also works with in-country and regional referral bank partners in those countries where Westpac does not have a specific capability or a physical presence.
