Westpac makes Global Sustainability league for third year
Westpac has been named for the third year in a row as one of The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, announced at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos.
The Global 100 spotlights the top sustainability performers from around 1800 public companies in 17 countries.
Westpac is one of only five Australian companies to be included in the list, joined again this year by IAG, and for the first time ANZ, Babcock and Brown and Rio Tinto.
The list is based on analysis by Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, a leading research firm specialising in "non traditional" drivers of risk and shareholder value.
Matthew Kiernan, CEO of Innovest notes: "As global investors become increasingly concerned about economic prospects for 2008, we believe that the Global 100 will be particularly well positioned to weather the storm and deliver superior value to investors."
