What we do
Westpac's operations are made up of six key areas of business, through which we serve more than 8.2 million customers.
- Business and Consumer Banking generates close to half the bank's profit with a nationwide network of over 800 branches and contact centres in five states, over 1,600 ATMs, internet banking services, more than 75,000 EFTPOS terminals and a strong mobile sales force.
It is responsible for sales and service, marketing and product development for over five million consumers, as well as small to medium sized business and wealth customers in Australia and parts of Asia.
- Wealth Management comprises our asset accumulation, investment management and life insurance operations in Australia and New Zealand. It designs, manufactures and services financial products to enable customers to build, manage and protect their wealth.
- Westpac Institutional Bank provides financial services to the corporate and institutional customer base; assisting and advising in the management of cash, funding, capital and market risk for companies and institutions in Australia and New Zealand.
- Business & Technology Solutions & Services performs the back office processing functions for Westpac. BTSS support the consumer and wholesale businesses and the financial markets, corporate finance and treasury teams across Australia and New Zealand.
Our objective is to deliver a true end-to-end customer experience enabling our people to better service our customers. We look after the behind-the-scenes processes of the bank and are constantly striving to improve them.
- New Zealand (retail) provides a full range of retail and commercial services to customers throughout New Zealand. It is the leading provider of banking services to small to medium business and the banker of the New Zealand government.
- Pacific Banking provides a full range of deposit, loan, transaction account and international trade facilities to personal and business customers in the region.
