Margin Lending services are provided by BT Securities Ltd ABN 84 000 720 114 as agent for Westpac Banking Corporation ABN 33 007 457 141. To apply for a Margin Loan, follow the steps below. You may prefer to receive a Margin Lending pack in the mail - just call our Margin Lending Customer Relations Consultants on 1800 816 222.

Four easy steps to apply for a loan
Note: If you are applying for a ML_Online Margin Loan, please refer to the specific documents required to establish the loan. These can be obtained when you apply online for a ML_Online Loan.

1. Download the following items

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Margin lending facility document (PDF 3.18MB) - this is the contract document for your Margin Loan

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Application form (PDF 278kb) - complete these forms as per instructions and the checklist provided.

Optional Forms - You can print and complete any of these forms, where they are relevant to your loan application.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Direct debit request (DDR) form (PDF 72kb) - use this form to enable BT Margin Lending to debit and/or credit your bank account.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Loan refinance form (PDF 69kb) - use this form to transfer your existing margin load to BT Margin Lending for either a full or partial refinance.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Managed fund application and regular gearing form (PDF 64kb) - use this form to make initial managed fund applications and/or to commence regular gearing of your loan. If you are commencing a regular gearing plans and require equity contribution, please ensure you also complete the DDR form.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Australian standard transfer form (ASTF) (PDF 157kb) - use this form to transfer your existing managed fund investments to your BT Margin Loan. You will need to complete a seperate ASTF for each individual managed fund, even if they are with the same fund manager.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Loding shares form (PDF 64kb) - use this form to transfer your existing shares to your BT Margin Loan.

Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF Name correction and Indemnity request form (PDF 59kb) - use this form to correct any discrepancies in the registration details of an existing issuer-sponsored share holding which is to be applied to your BT Margin Load.

2. Provide collateral for your BT Margin Loan

  • Provide a cheque to fund part of your investments
  • Lodge existing investments with us
