Contact a Westpac Financial Planner

You may have retired from the workforce, but your money shouldn't. There are plenty of options.

Make your money last

When you finally access your superannuation, there are three things you can do with it:
  • Take it as a lump sum. The 2006 Budget contained great news for anyone planning to retire, so you could enjoy a better retirement lifestyle. Speak with a Planner about strategies that could make a difference to your payout.
  • Roll it over into either a pension or an annuity (often called 'retirement income streams). There are four kinds of retirement income streams you can choose from.
  • A combination of both

Maximising your income

You will also need to have a financial plan in place for after you retire. Your plan should help you to maximise your income from investments and pensions, as well as protecting and growing your capital.

Pensions have their own social security conditions that affect your eligibility for Centrelink support. To maximise your social security entitlements, talk to your Westpac Financial Planner .

Check your will and estate plan

Circumstances change, and estate planning can be a complex area. To help you to allocate the right thing to the right person at the right time, meet with a legal expert to discuss your will and estate plan.
