Transfer your recurring direct debits
Do you have a new Westpac credit card but still have recurring direct debits being charged to your old credit card account?

Companies may be automatically debiting your credit card for services such as phone, gas and electricity, internet and pay TV access or health club memberships. If you have a new credit card, you will need to advise these companies of your new card details.

For most companies a phone call will be sufficient to change your credit card details. You may also be able to update your details online.

If you need to provide your new account details in writing,
our online form can help you generate the letters required. Then you can print and send the letters to your service providers.

Pen or PIN verfication
Credit card transactions have always required your signature. That will change from 4 June 2008 when – at participating merchants – you will have the option of using the card's 4-digit PIN (personal identification number) instead. Of course, you can continue to sign as you've always done. The choice is yours.

Keying in your PIN can be more convenient than signing because it's quicker: no more juggling pen, purchases and paper. Just enter your PIN and you're done.

1. The primary cardholder is responsible for the use of the additional card and must pay for all transactions made by the additional cardholder, including any charges, until the additional card is returned to the Bank.
2. Some billers do not accept credit card payments via BPAY ® Registered to BPAY Pty Ltd ABN 69 079 137 518.
3. Balance transfers are treated as cash advance transactions so that interest will accrue on amounts transferred from the date the transfer is debited to your account. Balance transfers are subject to available credit limit and to your Westpac credit card being in good standing. You will receive a letter from us confirming your transfer has been received and your request has been communicated to the bank or financial institution that issued the other card(s). Balance transfers which gain the benefit of a special promotional rate are only available to customers who are applying for an applicable Westpac card and wish to transfer the balance(s) from a non-Westpac credit card(s). charge card(s) or store card(s). This offer is only available at point of application. After 6 months the balance transfer rate will switch to the annual percentage rate applicable to cash advances for your credit card and any outstanding balance will not gain the benefit of any interest free days. Any subsequent balance transfer requests will be charged at the annual percentage rate applicable to cash advances for your credit card and will be treated as a cash advance with no interest free days applying to them. Please note that payments made to your credit card account are first applied to any amounts transferred from other credit cards, charge cards or store cards under this offer, before they are applied to any other cash advance or purchase amount. This will mean that the portion of your outstanding balance that is subject to a lower interest rate will be paid off first and that you will not gain the benefit of any interest free period until the full balance (including any balance transfer) is paid by the due date each month.
4. It will take one full statement cycle for Card Autopay to take effect. You are free to change or cancel the plan at any time, by giving us 7 days notice, by calling the Cards Customer Service Call Centre on 1300 651 089. If the outstanding balance of your credit card account is less than $10, the full closing balance will be paid. If 2% of your closing balance is less than $10, then $10 will be paid. If 2% of the closing balance is greater than the set amount, then the 2% will be paid. If the closing balance is less than the set amount, only the closing balance will be paid.
5. A courier cost of $20 will be charged to your card for overseas delivery.

Products and services described here are only available in Australia. Full details of terms and conditions for Westpac's credit card products are available on application. Terms and conditions, including bank fees and charges, may be varied or introduced at any time.
