Beyond Survival business workshops

Beyond Survival is the core course program delivered by the Westpac Financial Education team. The series comprises two, one-day workshops and focuses on providing you with the tools to help you gain a deeper understanding of the core financial drivers that affect your bottom line.

• Seven simple steps to analyse the performance of your business
• What the numbers in your profit & loss and balance sheet really mean
• How to improve your cash flow and rely less on your overdraft
• How to measure the trends in your business and use benchmarking to measure your performance
• How changes in price, volume and costs really impact your bottom line
• How many sales you need to break even
• Learn how to use a simple tool known as the roadmap to improve the cash flow in your business

Module two - Where's your business headed?

• Building a future cash flow budget and profit plan
• The difference between profits & cash and their uses in your business
• Planning for future growth and transition
• How to analyse business performance
• Complete a cash flow & profit plan and learn how to use them to achieve long term success in your business
• Calculate how much you need to borrow to support the growth in your business

Business Financial Review workshop
In addition to our two day Beyond Survival workshop, we also offer Business Financial Review.
With the assistance of our experienced facilitators, you will apply the learnings from Beyond Survival to your own financial statements.
This workshop is conducted in small groups of no more than 10 participants. Your financials remain completely confidential but you will benefit from the shared experiences and knowledge of other business owners.

• You'll use the information from your own financial statements and apply the learnings from the previous two modules
• Follow seven simple steps to assess your business performance
• Understand the information in your financial statements
• Identify what ratios you could use to monitor your business
• Use the roadmap and identify where you can make changes in your business
• Build your own business development plan
• Work out how many sales your business needs to break even
• Learn how the decisions you are making impact your bottom line.
