Background Information

Objective	To provide up-to-date information on agribusiness issues in regional Australia, from examining business owner's perceptions of business performance, profit, costs, investment, inventory, employment issues and more.
Author	Westpac in partnership with Charles Sturt University's Western Research Institute (WRI).
Frequency	Quarterly
Data Source	Results derived from a nationwide survey, conducted by the Western Research Institute, of 1200 businesses in the agribusiness sector. The survey includes agriculture producers as well as suppliers to agriculture (upstream) and related transport, manufacturing, wholesale and retail businesses (downstream). The aim of the survey is to provide a timely snapshot of agribusiness across Australia.
