Westpac Foundation
Application process
In late 2010, The Westpac Group announced a $20 million capital boost to The Westpac Foundation. Westpac’s very generous contribution will enable the Foundation to expand its work and support of disadvantaged communities across Australia.
On 8 December, the Westpac Foundation will be announcing our funding strategy for the next 5 years including a range of new grants.
The first 2 of these grants, the Catalyst Grant and the Mary Reibey Grant are now open for applications.
The Catalyst Grant
This grant of $50,000 aims to support an existing social enterprise or social enterprise initiative within a not-for-profit which we believe has been and continues to be a catalyst for change.
To be eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Your social enterprise or social enterprise project must generate at least 20% of its revenue from commercial/trading activity.
- Your social enterprise initiative reflects one or more of the following areas: social inclusion, indigenous, education or individuals with a disability.
- Your organisation must be a not-for-profit with deductible gift recipient status
- Your enterprise operates/trades in Australia.
If the funding is being sought for a social enterprise initiative within a not-for-profit, the social enterprise initiative must generate at least 20% of its revenue from commercial/trading activity. For example, you may run a not-for-profit which 5 years ago set up a café. If in 2011, 20% of the café’s revenue comes from its trading activity, you will be eligible to apply.
Up to 8 Catalyst Grants of $50,000 will be given in 2012. The winners of the grant will have the opportunity of receiving an additional $50,000 grant through The Westpac Employee Choice Award.
Please ensure your organisation meets these criteria before downloading a copy of the funding guidelines (PDF 296kb).
Submit your funding submission in the required format to westpacfoundation@westpac.com.au by 24 February 2012.
