Organisational Mentoring

As a company that is about to celebrate 200 years of existence, we believe we can offer some insights into what creates a sustainable organisation.

By collaborating with our community partners beyond financial support, we are moving into a more innovative model that moves from skilled volunteering and pro bono work to our new Organisational Mentoring programme launched in January 2010.

The Organisational Mentoring programme is a skills transfer programme designed to help build and drive continuous improvement, innovation, collaboration and long term sustainability in the not-for-profit sector.

The benefits to the Westpac Group are two-fold.  The Organisational Mentoring Programme not only builds capacity for our not-for-profit partners, but provides a development opportunity for employees, allowing them to further develop their influencing and coaching skills, change management and continuous improvement practices.  It also creates greater employee engagement.

We partner with a series of Not-for-Profit organisations that fall into one of the following three categories:

  • Not for profit organisations – We’re currently supporting CanTeen, Queensland Rural Women's Network, Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Inspire Foundation.
  • Indigenous Organisations in Redfern/Waterloo and Cape York regions.
  • Social Enterprises across Australia.
