Our requirements of suppliers
At Westpac, we cannot contract out our responsibilities nor do we seek to. Instead we ask our suppliers the same questions we ask ourselves. Those who can't answer these questions satisfactorily can pose as much risk to Westpac as if they were part of our company. Gaps in a supplier's performance must be rectified if Westpac is to minimise risks to its own sustainability.
From 1 January 2008, suppliers are required to be compliant with the standards set out in our SSCM Code of Conduct.

Only suppliers formally notified by the SSCM team are required to complete the second screening process (SSCM Questionnaire) for higher risk and high spend suppliers.
