Sustainability strategy
Our Sustainability Strategy
We acknowledge ‘sustainability’ is not a static agenda, rather we know that the issues that impact our customers, employees and our community, and our response to those issues, will evolve over time.
Shaping the future landscape
Our new strategic focus is to anticipate and shape the most pressing emerging societal issues where we have the skills and experience to make a meaningful difference.
We believe that the world is changing and that people need to think differently. As one of the largest companies in our region we have an opportunity to lead the debate and understanding of these issues. However, we want to respond in a way that benefits not only our business, but our customers and the wider community as well. Read more about our approach to emerging issues.
And managing the current landscape
Sustainability is already factored into our strategy planning and risk management practices.
Examples of these ‘here and now issues’ include the management of sustainable supply chain by sourcing teams within each country of operation, and the management of carbon risk by our institutional, business banking and risk areas. See the Sustainability in Action section.
