American depository receipts (ADR)

Westpac has had an ADR program in place, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, since October 1989. Initially the ADR comprised 4.1 million receipts, supporting an issue of 131.2 million $1 fully paid non-cumulative perpetual preference shares.

Each ADR represents five (5) ordinary Westpac ordinary fully paid shares. Importantly, an ADR carries the same corporate and economic rights of the underlying Westpac ordinary fully paid shares.
